Here is one of 7 cherry burl lidded boxes I turned. The other six were gifts to my 3 sisters and 3 sister-in-laws. They love them and the color. These were about 4" tall and 2 3/4" across. Finishes with one coat of antique oil and 3 coats of wipe on poly.

By the way Pete Jordon sent me this burl. It was dry and turned well. I am sorry Pete it took me so long to get to it but boy was it worth it. All 7 boxes turned out with beautiful rich color. Thank you Pete for some wonderful wood. It is appreciated.

Thanks all. I watched a video by Ray Key and he did one of these boxes. Was intrigued by it so thought I would give it a go. Made 7 of them.

Dewey this one is going to the Art Gallery for display and sale.

Very nice work Bernie! Really like the form and the way the handle is part of that form instead of an afterthought - if you know what I mean!

Beautiful wood! The finish brings out the color without hiding the wood in a glare! Should be a really big seller at the gallery! Very nice!
