looking for pin to engr. photo

Hi All, I am looking for a pin like a tie tack. I will need to engrave a photo on it. I did see onyx earings, a little steep in price.

I might suggest wood - I've done photos on wood and they turn out really good (for the most part). Harder wood without significant grain patterns is best for details. Add a nice finish and it should look good. You can get the findings to attach at any jewelry supply or probably even a craft store like Michael's.

They sell natural stone cabachons (flat backed stones) in different shapes and sizes including onyx and they will also have the pins and glues. Good luck!

Thinking outside the Laser Box, this would be a good job for color sublimation. Unisub and Conde make small metal pieces for things like the pin that would work. Even epoxy dome over the picture for a better product.

Epoxy is about $200.00 a gal + Wally Mart Mustard Pump

A few syringes and needles from the epoxy company. I bought a bunch but have been using the same ones for months.

A Crack Torch to heat the surface of the epoxy to remove the bubbles.

Some Wally Mart Cookie Trays
