I just completed my first bandsaw box. What a great use for some scrap cherry and ash.

Thanks to Lance Norris for his great tutorial.

Very nice! I really like the prominent end grain of the ash - almost looks like a chunk of center cut wood!

Very nice. I too like the arching end grain.

Nice box Michael. I like the contrast between the colors and the grain is great. I dont get much time in my shop anymore :( because I'm now a long distance truck driver, but come summer, Im going to figure a way to take a small bandsaw with me on my journeys. Might buy a mini lathe also. My truck has an APU and a 1000 watt inverter, so power shouldn't be a problem. :)

Looks good, Michael. I'm just finishing a set of small boxes (not BS) that are my first. I only hope they turn out that well.

Sarge..

Michael, like others have said, I like dramatic end grain of the ash. It adds a nice natural flare to the piece. Very nice.

Well I'll echo the other sentiments about the end-grain. It does indeed almost look like you took a log and made a square jewelry box out of it! Bravo!

Nice looking box. I like the way you did the lid....

Good combination of woods...
