Hi:

Does anyone know if Elm , either Red Elm or American Elm, would be ok to use for a hardwood floor in a kitchen? I am having new kitchen cabinets put in and will also be putting in a new floor. I thought about tile, but would prefer a hardwood floor.

Thanks,

Bob

Very tough and stringy excellent for the hub of old wagon wheels. I don't think it takes an even finish, not sure.

Sad we are chop and grinding them by the boat load because of the Dutch elm beatle. Can't store them in the city with the bark. Our beautiful bullevards are stripped of these wonderful shade trees.:(
