This is a small piece of Walnut crotch cut-off. The "Y" of the trunk is at the top giving 2 pith's and a small bark inclusion. A bit more sap wood on the backside than I would like but mom nature dictates that. 5X5 with a coat of Danish oil..Bill..

i was just getting onto get some form ideas to make a center peice for the mantle---you rthe first one I looked and i think this is the direction I will try to take----who on earth know what I will actuly end up with though----really like the form and the way you used the wood

I really love the form on this one, to my eye it couldnt have been shaped any better!! Fantastic.
How do you dry something like that with the piths and not get cracks??
