Has anybody used Google Chrome out there? If so, I was wondering if anyone has also encountered the following issue with Google Chrome too. When attempting to download/save a cdr file, it adds a .htm to the file. Sometimes, by just deleting the .htm from the file name will work and sometimes not.

Just curious if there was a fix for this?

p.s. I started using Google Chrome when there were all those security vulnerability issues and warnings with Internet Explorer.

Chrome.... Well, to say you went away from IE to Chrome because of security issues is a bit concerning..... I'm a security professional.

Google is really cool for many tools for sure.... Security and privacy with them is another story. Let's just say if you have chrome, read the agreements closely... they essentially own you and everything about you.

Firefox is the best despite not being perfect.

I for one welcome my Google Chrome overlord..........

j/k

Anyways I hear they relaxed the thing a bit and just used a cookie cutter agreement and have caught a lot of crap about it. But looking at your credentials I am sure you are more informed than I am !

OMG! another browser to deal with while developing websites.

None are perfect but Firefox is king.

Cheers

Sorry, but that's simply not true.
The original EULA was a bit odd, for sure (for benign reasons, i'd be glad to go into them in private if you really care).
It has been since revised to be sane.
It claims no rights to anything of yours.

There actually is a good story here, but people always believe we are out to get them, so ... :)

Sometimes it is as simple as the wrong person taking maternity leave at the wrong time :)

Glad someone else realises that. How many programs have we installed where the google toolbar gets installed? I use Google a lot, but I am very careful about it, I keep many of the other search engines available because I know that with Google you are being 'steered'

I use Chrome once in a while - I have not tried to download any cdr files with it so I don't know what is causing that bug. Post a link to a cdr and I will see what Chrome does and see if I can troubleshoot it for you.

Like the others I suggest FireFox. Chrome is neato and all but Firefox works best. Firefox has one feature that makes it a KILLER APP for me and that directly relates to forums. When making a post like this one and the computer should crash then Firefox REMEMBERS the state it was in including the message you were typing and brings it all back the next time you open FireFox. That has saved my posts many times.

Hi John,

Here's a file you can try...

p.s. I actually use Firefox most of the time myself too but was trying out Google Chrome to see if I liked it or not and this is one of the issues I found and was basically wondering if anybody else is seeing this too.

Yep - I had the same annoyance and stopped using it. (I use the latest Firefox.)
