question - the cap isnt tight, and comes loose, do they sometimes need to be glued in?

Usually the slimline caps fit tight, but a little CA will fix it. Just a drop.

And this one pen will lead to many more. They are addicting. :)

Great Job, The real joy now comes when you get to give that to someone with the knowledge that you made it. I am sure that it is just the first of many. doug

...And so it begins. Gordon, great job on your first one. There will be many, many more, believe me. Keep makin' em and keep 'em coming. I have been making pens for eight years or more and I still love to make them.

All the best.

Gordon,
Very nice looking pen. Watch out for that vortex they talk about on here. It will suck you in before you know it. I just started turning pens in November. I've still got some pen kits to make & I'm itching to make a run to Rockler & Woodcraft store this weekend to purchase more...:)

Who read this post without smiling.......? I didn't think so. Gordon, I would recommend keeping this pen in your possession. Reminds me of the Mastercard commercials (tulipwood pen.......priceless!) Looking forward to many more project photos in the days months ahead. This is a great forum.

Gordon, The bug has bitten you! You are forever now in the vortex and your turnings will only get better! Great job!

Now if we can get out of this deep freeze and get to spring you can get on your bike and take the road trip mentioned earlier!

Stay warm,

Jeff

Gordon,
Nice job on the pen...and many more to come. All this encouragement will only bring you deeper into the depths of the vortex...but it's a great place to be. Enjoy your new found hobby.
