Looking to buy a new spindle sander , looking a clayton model 100 about $816, General model 15-020 about $ 899 and Jet Model JOVS 10 $911. What are your thoughts on these items ? Which one is the best ?

Which one is the best ?Mike, I don't know much about these larger spindle sanders (I have the little Delta) but the Clayton is well respected.
BTW, these guys have the Jet for $799

I bought the Shop fox OS 2 months ago. It has the 9" spimdles that range from 1/4" up to 4" diameter. The travel is 2 1/2". It has a mirror finish on top that is smoother than any other I have seen.

You can go to their web site and check it out a www.shopfox.biz. No, I am not affiliated in anyway with their company. I am just another satisfied customer.

I want to add the cost was $ 200/300 less than the others you mentioned.

Good luck.

I'd look at Grizzly's entry in this bunch-G1071. Stout, well made, and $588 to your door. Love mine. Tony

Mike,

I have a BOSS, but my Dad has an awesome MAX. I'm very fond on the Clayton on your list. That would be my choice.

I would second the Grizzly, a very nice unit and again great tool for your dollar value. You would some left over to buy something else.

Unless I needed the tilting arbor capability (instead of tilting table) of the high-end Clayton I would go with the Grizzly 1071. I choose the Grizzly 1071 over the Jet or General, just not enough difference to make up the difference in price.
