This segmenting stuff is for people a lot smarter than me! This is a small HF, 6" wide by 4.5" tall, made from African Mahogany with a shot of Walnut for design. After doing this I'm even more impressed by those fancy designs some of the segmenters do.

Very cool Curt!

They are a lot smarter than me too! I would like to try it but the thought of glueing up all those pieces and the chance it would blow up scares me.

By the looks of that it seems you might be smarter than you think. Nice job, I love the top.

That's a cool piece Curt. Did you hollow it all through that one teeny opening? Does not take any smarts, just very durable thumbs and fingers to press all those little pieces together. Am less than half way into building a piece with 1,400+ segments and my digits are already sore and trying to convince me to just make monolithic pencil cups. I think you did good, and probably should do another one.

Curt - you don't given yourself enough credit! Very nice hollow form! Really like the simple, yet effective design! Also like the really small neck and opening! Don't know if it is the color of the piece, the form or a combination of the two, but it sure is inviting! Thanks for sharing!

Dunno Curt, Looks like you did just fine on this one. Looking forward to number 2.

Looks real nice to me. The simple pattern doesn't detract from the great form. Seems a certain amount of segmented work emphasizes the patterns and the number of pieces, to the detriment of the form.

Curt, You are way ahead of the curve on the segmented world than I am! I am not sure that my mind would still function after the fact! The shape and the woods you chose compliment each other wonderfully! The small neck gives is an elegant charm!

It will only get better!

Jeff
