Yep...I've still got some of that Red Cedar left! This vase is 12 3/4" X 5 3/4" and has about 7 coats of gloss wipe on poly and 3 wheel buff. Front and back views..Bill..

That sure is a beauty. Love the finish and I'm not usually a gloss fan, but it sure works with the ceder. I just finished putting 8 coats of Gloss Wipe On Poly on 4 bowls and plan on doing the 3 wheel buff for my 1st time just to see how I like the results. I've done lots of oil finish buffing but wanted to try the poly buff as I see it used so much. I'm worried about burning through the finish though. I know you have to let it cure a week to 10 days as I've read on here. Do you just use a real "lite touch" and if so does that have enough effect. What ever your procedure is sure worked.

Yes Maylon a light touch is all you really need unless you spot some dirt nibbs.Wait to buff until you can no longer smell the finish. Then it is cured. Also I am an old auto worker from paint so my finish method for these glossy projects is the same one we used for show-car finishes. Wet sand (blackpaper) between coats with 4 or 600 till all the defects are gone then recoat and do it again. After 7or 8coats wet sand your final finish with 12 or 1800. Let it cure and buff it out. Makes a really deep finish but takes a lot of time....Bill..
