I am ready to put one in my shop in place of my 1014 VS, but dragged my feet too long and missed out on the December specials and rebates going on.

Who currently has the best price and shipping deal? Should I wait and see if they come down over the next couple of months?

See where procrastination gets ya...:mad::(:(

Not sure what's a good price ATM, but I bought my Wife's Christmas present from Amazon. Got a great price, cheap shipping, and the CoinStar machines will count all your change and give you an Amazon credit without charging you a surcharge. Dumped in all my change and got about $140 towards the lathe!

Try Packard Wood Works (http://www.packardwoodworks.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=lathes-jet-1220) - good people to work with, and still has the lathe extension at the old price.

You are going from 10-14 to 12-20 That seems like a small upgrade. Are you sure that will be enough for you? You don't want to upgrade again 6 months from now.

That'll be Mr. Noles to you Weishapl :p

Hey...... Shop is not small, the tools are just too big and too many :eek::D

Seriously, I only work with smaller size projects due to some health reasons and I could never turn one of those laundry basket size bowls like Bernie. The 1220 will give me all the lathe I will ever need.

Yep...dallied around too long and now may have to dally again waiting for something to come back around :(:o

Bob,
I found the best price in December from Bib Tool and Cutter in Macon, Ga. He does post sales on the internet auction house.
Good luck!

Bill that is about the best deal I have seen since Christmas.

Yep Bob I love mine. It is a gem and a pleasure to use with the VS.

I gave $545 for mine at Woodcraft last month. They're $595 there now I think.
