I know that their are folks here that can steer me in the right direction. I have a stanley type 9 3C with a broken frog that I would like to replace. I think that the plane is a type 9 based on the 2 patent dates on the base casting and the fact that the frog does not have a fine adjustment screw. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A picture would be of help.

I have some early type 9 planes with a low rib and late type 9s with the taller rib like used on the type 10s.

Stanley didn't know there were going to be type studies and collectors, so in some cases the changes for a type did not always come all at once.

They are often listed on eBay.

What part of the country are you in?

Gordon,
A PM was sent to your email. May have gone wrong.
Let me know if you have found the frog you need.
There is one in my shop spares.
