hmmmm...that is what the seller on ebay responded to me when asked what the serial number was on the Independence DT saw he has listed....I thought all of those saws were numbered?

Jim,

I don't know enough about the saws in the early days to know if it is original or not. The back/blade don't look like the typical IT saw.

He says he bought it new 10 years ago, could be I 'spose. The back is pretty wide, wider than most all IT saws I've seen. I think it would need to be an early model that Pete made, before he added serial numbers.

That back/blade look different than most, as I mentioned, but I don't know the history well enough.

My IT saw was made after the Taran/Leach split and has no serial number.

My IT also has no number.

I recall reading that they stopped being numbered after the first 500 (or some such number) saws.

Anyone have an IT saw with a wider back on it like the one on ebay? (200295948942)

The handle resembles Pete's recent handles but the back/blade look different to me. The older handles had a more handcrafted look to them.
