;)Got my Ci1 just after Thanksgiving, finished a Koa handle and used it for Christmas gift turnings. Works like everyone boasts about. Enjoy it alot, will probably get the Ci2. With tools like Craig's Jackson( stepped handle) and Doug Thompson's( 1/2 U bowl gouge) turning is much more enjoyable.

Im with you on the Thompson tools, they are very nice to work with. What lathe are you using the Ci1 with? Horsepower?

I was recently "gifted" one of Craig Jackson's tools. To be honest, I thought to myself, "What do I need with another turning tool." Well, I gave it try on a project that required hollowing 24 cone-shaped bottomless vessels (for a ribbon construction). The carbine cutter worked amazingly well. It will be my “go to” tool for this type of turning from now on.

;) I use it on a Jet 1220, 3/4 hp. Run the rpm's at 840-1240 rpm. Depending on the hardness of the wood and if it's green or not. Works great during roughing. Then it's the Thompson gouge for the finishing. The two work hand in hand and compiment each other. Congrats to both for excellent tools!!:D
