Hello. I am not a woodworker. I use this site for the laser engraving info. My question is about a wood working project. I am making a home bar. The base will be 2 53 gallon whiskey barrels. I want a top that is wood trimmed with glass top with drawers from the back side that slide in and out to display my hunting and fishing collectibles and other small antiques. Has anyone ever seen or made something like it? Any one near York Pa. that could help?
Thanks.

People used to make coffee tables like that -- display chambers below a glass top.

I think in your bar-top case, the key issue would be keeping spilled drinks out of the collectibles. I'd make the glass top single-piece, and make it extend somewhat beyond the drawers. I'd put a drip-edge on it -- probably made of wood -- so that spilled fluids just fall past the drawers instead of turning and flowing on the under side of the glass to get above the drawers.
