"Hobbyist" v."Hobbiest"

The Hobbyist is a person who does something for the pleasure of doing it (not for pay). An amateur. See http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/hobbyist

The Hobbiest is the person who has the most hobbies or who spends the most time on said hobbies.

That said, I grant you that the person who cares to post the difference is, at a minimum, the boringest and very likely the annoyingest.

Well, I'll just be danged, I learnt sumpin new today. All this time I thought a hobbyist was the one with the most hobs. Yesterday I didn't even know what it meant, and today I are one! :D

As a relative noob I had seen it spelled both ways and always wondered. It was a slow day away from the shop, so I thought I'd look it up and share. That's all.

My baby Sis said, "Turn around and smile." At a family gathering in Oregon.
So being as we are all nuts anyway, what you see is what she got.
So I got her back later on goofing around. And my older Sis as well.
We ring the rafters with laughter when we get together. :D
