I had talked to one of the SC distributors in town and he said it was supposed to be a PM 3520 "knockoff" for around half of the money.
Just my 2 pennies.

The Powermatic gets great reviews for sure but holy cow! that sure is one ugly lathe.

The color is what give's it it aura! Just like samson and his hair, take away his trademark and the mystery is gone!

Awhile ago someone posted a link on here saying the new sctw lathe was going to be a big cast iron bed and legs mated to a nova headstock.
