I have, for some time now, wanted to attend the Marc Adams School of Woodworking just south if Indy and I am seriously considering applying for the annual scholarship which awards the class of choice to the winner. I was wanting to ask anyone who may be familiar with this school for any advice. What do you suppose they would be looking for in a scholarship recipient? For example, would they be interested in traditional work or original and contemporary work? Does the difficulty or size of work matter? How about the use of power tools vs. hand tools? I have projects I've completed in the last few years I would consider entering but I would like to plan and complete work specifically for this scholarship. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If anyone else is interested, the deadline for entries is March 2, 2009.

Even though it would mean more competition, I think this scholarship would be an amazing opportunity for any of us!

I Don't want to steal the thread but for people close to central Missouri we are having Marc Adams give a class on Jan 16-17.

In the future please post time sensitive announcements in our Calendar. It doesn't make sense to archive messages in a woodworking forum that wil soon be out of date.

Thanks

We had him at our club in March of 06 and those in attendance were very satsisfied. We chose the option to have him talk about joinery and design. I think everyone walked away with something and for me, it was a new appreciation for hand tool work, even though he shows how to do them with power tools too.
