Well, I just couldn't resist...

The guy I bought this from dropped it off this morning. So far, my entire bandsaw experience is my Jet 14", so I've got a few things to learn, to say the least. It came with 4 or 5 blades, including a brand new 1" Lenox Trimaster, as well as the mobility kit.

I sold the TS and am moving to a bandsaw-centric shop. I think this one will fit the bill.

One question:

I also have a JJP-12 3HP J/P, which is hooked up to a 20 amp breaker with 12/2 wire. I know I can't run the bandsaw on this circuit, but can I run the J/P on a 30 amp, 10/2 circuit? The run is about 30 feet from the box.

Thanks!

Hi Matt,

I am no authority, but that J/P is rated at 220V/ 12.5 amps. You should be able to put that on a 30 amp 10/2 circuit, no problem.

Geez - delivered and it even matches the color scheme in your shop.:D
You are going to get soooo spoiled after a 14" Jet.

The MM20 is awesome - love mine. Getting the seller to move it was extra awesome. What a beast.

I am envious!

I sold a huge old Oliver when I moved my shop with the intention of buying one of those, and I still am using an old Delta 14 metal cutting BS. I can see myself cutting on ut now.......

Salute!

Thanks for all the replies!

I'm heading to the borg today to get the 10/2 and 30 amp breaker. Hopefully I can get it fired up this weekend.

Has anyone mounted casters to the bottom of the frame? I seem to remember seeing holes when we were unloading it....

Very nice!!! Congratulations.

Zambus or similar casters/lifts are becoming very popular on these Euro band saws and yes, they can use the same threading as the leveling bolts already in those holes you see.

*Bandsaw-centric*!!?? Is this a new catchword for '09? I would never, in any shape, form, or fashion, believe that any bandsaw could replace a tablesaw! All bandsaws leave teethmarks to some degree. No glueline ripping there! To each their own but, I'll keep my PM66, thank you very much!

And, something tells me you gave TOP Dollar for that MiniMax, if the seller delivered to your shop! I spend sleepless nights when I pay too much. I sleep like a baby after a *bargain!*

Thanks for reminding me, Chip. He was asking $2100 and I got him to deliver it 3 hours one way for $2000. Give that it is practically new, I've been sleeping pretty well!

I have no problem cleaning up my rips on the jointer. The only real regret that I'm expecting is having to dado with the router. I definitely liked that dado set...

My shop shares a 2 car garage with a car. As such, I don't have room for both a BS and TS. Until someone comes out with a tablesaw that can safely resaw and cut curves, I'll stick with my current plan...
