I nearly pulled the trigger on a new Griz G0453 planer at the end of
December to beat the price increase. Had the order all set to go-
just needed to hit that last (place your order) button but, just couldn't justify spending quite that much.

Rechecked their site on 1-1-09 and sure enough - the price jumped
from 795 to 950. I' m sure not going to get one now.

I was checking the tool listings for craigslist a couple days ago and shazam; a Griz G0453 for $500. Checked it out, less than 2 years old, in great shape, and now it's in my shop.

I can only dream about being that lucky. They would have tried to get $1500 on the craigslist around here. If I were you I would buy a lottery ticket too.

Not normally that lucky myself. I usually buy high and sell low. LOL

There is a sad side to this though. The guy I got it from is another victim of this crappy economy. He's moving to look for work and sold the machine to help with expenses.
