This is my first post on Sawmill Creek so be kind. I searched the web and am looking for some reviews on the Sharp-Fast tool guide sold by Craft Supplies USA. My question is that without the base pivoting you will essentially have a off axis spiral grind won't you? In theory if you had clearance you could just keep going round and round in the base until you had a point. Your just rotating about the shaft without pivoting the stem side to side so I don't see any way they could make the perfect fingernail grind that is shown in the picture. I did find a video on woodcraft and from what I saw it backs up my idea. If anyone has one of these or has seen one in action could you let me know how well it worked. I've used a spiral grind before but prefer a good long fingernail. Thanks.
