For Christmas, I made some toys for my grandkids.
Things were so hectic trying to get to town to mail them and all, I forgot to take any pictures.
My son took some pics and emailed them to us.

This is my first hollow turning. Not having any tools to do the inside of a shape like this, I cheated and used a drill. Anyway, Logan seems to like it.

The inside was drilled with a 3/4 inch forstner bit, a few pebbles were placed inside and then the handle was glued in place.

Made of cherry with a mineral oil (block oil) coating.

It looks like he really enjoys his new toy. I am sure you enjoyed making it for him as well. I hope he doesn't have a little sister any time soon. It looks like it would make a nice head bonker also!

Just like kids... they fight to put everything into their mouths. I imagine I was no different as a kid. Nice rattle!
