Myk Rian
01-03-2009, 7:37 PM
It took less time to go from 1mil to 1,000,100 than it did from 999,900 to 1mil:p

Dewey Torres

Dewey Torres
01-03-2009, 7:47 PM
I know what happened...

When the MODS have to banish someone they have to move the post into the mod forums so those don't count because they are not allowed to win free stuff.

Myk Rian
01-03-2009, 7:55 PM
Moderators are eligible to win.

Rob Bodenschatz

It's not BS. That was the 1,000,000th post according to the software unless some other criteria was specified.

And you can't say BS around here (indirectly explaining the discrepency).

Ok but how about using those fancy skills of yours to show the url for actual counter that is displayed at the bottom of the SMC homepage. That's the one that has the winner.

Keith explained it over in the real "1,000,000th post" thread (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?t=98728&page=1) :D. I'll repost his words here:

The post counter on the main page is the number of active posts here at The Creek. We have had over a million posts if you count the deleted posts which we don't. For the record other than deleted posts and those that have been removed to our Moderators Forum every post is accessible in our archives. We don't delete or remove old messages or threads as we feel they are a valuable part of The Creek.

We are obviously over the one million mark. The winner can only be announced by our System Adminstrator Aaron Koehl as he must query our database and deduct the deleted posts from the total then backtrack to the post that put us over the top. Aaron goes to church on Sunday morning so it will probably be tomorrow afternoon before he announces the winner.
