I am trying to build Norm's Tall Pine Clock. On the top is a cornice molding. I mitered the top & the sides at 45 degrees & they don't come anywhere close to fitting at the miter.This is my first try at cornice molding. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks
Dennis

I found these links on an earlier thread, I suspect that they may prove useful;

Dennis, I am thinking this molding is a type of crown molding. Do a search here or on google for crown molding. It is a totally different type of setup on your miter saw. It can be both challenging and frustrating, but very rewarding. Good Luck

I was going to post a cheat on cutting crown but the link above at the Dewalt site is a really good one.

Thanks, I am adding that instead of what I had.

Crown is a major pain but very nice when done.
