Randy, I use a Gast model 523 and it works great! The model you have listed is the 522 and the only difference is the cfm - the 522 being .5 cfm less than the 523. As long as you have 220 VAC - this would be a good vac system pump! The price is about $30 cheaper than what I paid for the 523! Hope that helps!

I have reconditioned a few Gast pumps. This is a typical rotary vane pump which are of simple design and are durable, forgiving, and rebuildable. I would recommend this pump for the price.

I bought the same pump on Wednesday and its to be delivered on Monday by UPS. They are great people at the Surplus Center and get things out quick. Go for it......

Just got mine today from the Surplus Center. Got the system hooked up (using Steve's thorough tutorial). Tried it by holding my thumb over the input on the input side air filter--worked like a charm.

Now I just have to finish making my rotary adaptor and some chucks. I'll post pictures when finished.
