I like the Norton 3X wheels, for the money they are great. Of course if you have the money you can go to a SG wheel. I personnally would use a 60 grit wheel. I find that it is easier to burn the steel with a finer grit wheel.

Curtis, although they are more expensive, I'll also put in a plug for the Norton 3x wheels. I use 60 and 100 grit wheels on my grinder for turning tools. I find this combination works best for me.

Curtis - I use a 120 and 150 grit Norton wheels. They work fine as long as you don't apply a lot of pressure. If you do, the wheel will load up real quick. These wheels work for me simply because with a very light touch I can get a fresh edge and not remove a lot metal per pass. If you want to do any reshaping of your grinds - these would not be the best choice wheels.
