I think I bent the spindle on my Shop built lathe. My Dad built me this lathe about 7 years ago and never had any problem 'til started trying bowls last year.
It is 10 x 48 on 6' channel iron, can turn 20" so don't really want to part with it.
Have a machinist looking at it but he is not a wood turner so he is not too concerned...But I am!
I am looking for a good General lathe, all my chucks and attachments are made for General 160 so they will interchange ,but you "Spinny Guys" opines are welcome.
