Now that I'm truning for pleasure again, I'm doing what's fun, not what sells. Here is a Black Walnut Designer Filigree (from PSI).
The walnut is not an exceptional looking piece, but has a good story. A local farmer found out I make pens and gave me a box of scraps. It's scrap from a wainscoating job in a local VFW hall 20+ years ago. I can only imagine how beautiful that was.
The filigree kit would have been easier if I had bought the bushings for it, but it went pretty well without. I may buy a few more of them, LOML said, "That's gorgeous." I said we should put it in the White Elephant exchange at our bible study. Her anser was a firm "No."
I may go so far as to rig a light box. It definitely would have helped this photo.
