The Best Things - Has brought back the French handmade rasps under their own brandname. According to their website some of the former workers from Auriou are involved

About $80 with handles.

Eric,

I ordered a couple of these, based on Mike Wenzloff's recommendation.

TBT processed it really fast and shipped it, but it's not due to arrive to me until Jan. 8th...must be on that slow truck from the east coast...:(

Now to wait...

I don't know of course, but it seems like "going out of business" was the best move Auriou ever made. I'd kind of heard of them before all this happened and had heard that their rasps might be even better than the Nicholson rasps, but now it seems like if the shadow of a former Auriou worker falls on a bit of steel, miracles happen.

I apologize for casting aspersions on honorable people. I was in a skeptical mood when I was reading about Auriou. I have no doubt about the quality of their product or any reason to doubt the sincerity of the story.

I had just noted in my mind that their closing and re-appearance seemed to have had a positive effect in marketing the Auriou name.
