Like a lot of folks here, I was also busy getting cutting boards made for Christmas gifts. Great way to use up some scrap and most are quick and easy to make. All are finished with mineral oil and approximately 3/4" thick.
Pic 1: Cherry and oak endgrain block, 9"x9"x1-1/8"; Cherry, walnut, birch zigzag, 11"x8"
Pic 2: Walnut and maple, 12"x6"; Maple and cherry paddle, 12"x6"
Pic 3: Cherry, maple, walnut, 12"x8.5"
Pic 4: "The Keeper". Cherry, walnut, maple, 19"x9". Found this plan in Weekend Woodworking Projects, Jan 1990. Had a piece of spalted maple that worked really well in this design. A little challenging to build but definitely my favorite. I'm sure my BIL will enjoy it.
Pic 5: Maple, cherry, walnut, 14"x17". Based on WOOD magazine design but enlarged to accomodate my MIL's kitchen and allow her to use those plastic cutting sheets if she doesn't want to cut directly on the wood.
