I am currently in the middle of a rehab of the family room. We are adding the capability of surround sound. I need to find some way to mount the rear speakers on the wall and aim them at the focal point of the entertainment area. The speakers are small, no more than 3 inches wide and 6 inches tall. They have a keyed slot in the back for mounting to a flat surface. However, as mentioned I need to swivel and tilt these units.

Any ideas or hardware that someone can suggest?

I made some simple shelves for my uncle to put his speakers on. I put some small stick on rubber feet on the bottom so they would not vibrate off. That way you can simply face them in whatever direction you want. I stained them to match his other furniture. He actually bought a new sound system later on, and they worked for the new speakers as well.

When I was setting up my 7.1 system a friend of mine who hangs out on AVSForums all the time suggested that the best value out there was to be had at WalMart (of all places) for the jaw-dropping price of $16.00 for the whole shooting match. I bought them and installed them and they have been rock solid for 3+ years now. The one center chanel speaker of mine is quite heavy and I was woried about it sagging. What I did there was to seperate the ball-side from the socket-side. I then rubbed some super glue on the ball top and sprinked some sand on it and let it cure. Screwed it together and it has not moved. If I need to move it, just loosen the compression ring, move and re-tighten.
