Thread: From the Ashes

  1. From the Ashes

And now for something completely different.
Here is my piece that was accepted into the exhibit Rising to be shown in Phoenix at the AAW National Symposium this year.
The bird emerging from the body of a teapot l sacrificed to make this piece is made from Pear as is the stand. I cut out the bird, carved it, and airbrushed the whole piece. It is approximately 15” high and 5” wide. Thanks for looking Michael.

very nice....Mike, good to stretch your abilities in new directions.......if all your turnings look the same, it gets redundant

Phoenix rising from the ashes ! Took a minute as I was distracted by its beauty. Clever and well executed..... But as Festus once said ,"executin a fee nix don't do no good, man, they is ornery!".

I don't even want to think about the time you have in this one!! Great concept and some really neat airbrush work.

Hey guys, take a wild guess who is into racing...

Nice work Michael. Quite a bit different than your usual work. What happened? Didn't Cynthia want to do the flames with the pyro pen?
