Rockler Woodworking and Hardware Participates in Freedom Pen Project
34 Rockler stores to show support for our troops on 06/26/04
WHAT: The Freedom Pens Project is a volunteer effort designed to show support for our troops overseas by providing them with beautiful, hand-crafted wooden pens—a wonderful gift that will help our U.S. soldiers stay connected with their friends and families at home. The effort is spearheaded by the SawMill Creek Woodworkers Forums, a national online network for woodworkers.
Rockler Woodworking and Hardware, a leading supplier of woodworking hardware, tools and lumber, and its 34 stores nationwide will participate in the Freedom Pens project by opening its stores for public pen-making events.
WHO: Anyone who’s ever thought about working with wood—or who just wants to support our U.S. troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Rockler store employees and woodworkers will be on-hand to teach the art of woodturning—the skill used to create wooden pens with a tool called a lathe—throughout the event.
WHEN: June 26, 2004
9:00 to 5:00
