Hubby did 28 years in the Navy (1965 - 1993) and retired as an ATCS. He served in VP-5 at Jacksonville; NAS Pax River, Maryland; Souda Bay, Crete; NSA Naples; USS Nimitz; BuPers DC; USS Saipan; VF-84; and other points in between. He's a 45-plus-year woodworker, and turned me into one about 23 years ago. I don't know if this counts, but I worked with the Navy at NavSta Norfolk and NAS Pax River from 1966-1971 as a civilian disbursing clerk. (First husband was also Navy--retired as AVCM with 20 years.)
Also had multiple uncles on both sides of the family in WWII and Korea; lost family members in VietNam.
