    Friday's finds

Not that I am cheap....FRUGAL is the word I use...spent the morning raiding Garage Sales...bought 4 chairs..

For a dollar each....to replace the clunky, chunky things we used to have around the Dinning Room Table...

    Then, at another sale:

Was this little fellow...There was also a D-23 laying under it...but..I already had three D-23s in the til...

This is a Disston D8 ( the "8" is inside of the "D") 22" long, 11 ppi Panel saw. Still having a readable etch..

Price ? Yeah, I could pay that....saw was straight, and still sharp..

Not too bad of a morning?

Nice score on the D-8. I have several they fit my hand like a glove! My favorite saws!

Disston will be going through "Rehab"
    Shop Saturday, cleared the bench.JPG
Now that the benchtop has been cleared off
    Disston Panel saw, lock washers.JPG
One of it's saw bolts had lock washers (2)

The other ones left a ring in the handle...
    Disston Panel saw, left rings.JPG

Main item in the rehab is to replace a missing chunk of handle...
Disston Panel saw, needs a bit.JPG
    Stay tuned..

The Disston D8 is now all clean and shined up..even get the etch to appear..
    Disston Panel saw, Etch.JPG
    Blade length?
    Disston Panel saw, length.JPG
    22" Panel Saw..11 ppi that could stand a "re-freshing"
Disston Panel saw, Clean & shiny.JPG
    Oil finish on the handle.

The "8" is inside of the "D", so this was before the big changes in 1928? Top of the etch has 1840...
Plate is straight..brass has been shined up. Not too bad for $1?
