PC 690 won’t fit in Jesse lift

Hello! I just purchased a Bench Dog wing for my table saw and a JessEm MastRLift. My Porter Cable 690 router motor does not fit into the lift. I have adjusted the lift as directed and the motor fit is too snug to slide in. I have cleaned all components and checked for burrs holding things up. Anyone else have this arrangement and ran into the same problem?

(darn auto correct got me in the post title)

When I put the motor (Bosch 1617) in my mast-r-lift, I remember having to help it open up a little to slide in easily. When you back out the clamping cap screw, the little collar on it will hold it in place and allow it to spread the clamping mechanism open enough to slide the motor in. It did not take much force at all to open up enough to slide the motor in.

They do this I believe so that the "neutral" position of the clamp is the closed position. That way when the router motor is installed and clamped in the mechanism is as close to the dimensions it was machined to.
