I refinished an old office chair that my wife bought at a flea market. Can anyone tell me what kind of wood this is?OfficeChair16.jpg

I think it’s a conifer , probably picked to be easy to work and to make sure the company would not have to be hiring lawyers to fight
“ I got some really bad splinters in my butt from that chair” law suits. North Eastern White pine would be the best pine ,as it is easy to work ,
not full of pitch, and stains more evenly than other pines. But I can’t say for sure that it’s what they used.
I can not tell but you sure made it look nice! Chairs like that are often made from Beech, Birch, Maple, Oak etc. Your seat does look like a conifer. An image of the whole chair and an underside might help. The legs and back will very likely be hard wood.
