    Paul, you're not hijacking a dang thing! I found it insightful. Helped me think of a few other uses. Thanks everyone for your input. I looks as though that one will stay in my Amazon cart!

    I have one and love it. Take out the battery after each use.

    I have two digital protractors, a tilt box and three or four digital calipers.
    I love them all.

    Exactly. The issue for me appeared to be that the Wixey 'woke up' every time the drawer in which it was kept was opened or closed. I assume that's why the battery life was awful. I don't use mine often so inserting/removing the coin battery isn't that big a deal. I did have to bend the contacts in the battery case a little to insure solid contact but again, no big deal. iGaging is another source, I don't know how prices compare.
