    Sapele 10' dining table

A quick project just before Christmas to appease my wife. She wanted seating for 12, and it needed to be farm table-ish.

The sapele top finished out at 1.300" in thickness and was dyed with dark mahogany trans-tint. Its top coated with ultralaq precat solvent lacquer in a dull rubbed sheen. The aprons are 4" tall 1.25" thick with a 12mm bead. 12mmx100 dominos were used for the leg to apron joints. 8x40 were used for the three Center stretchers.

Pretty darn beautiful table!! And it clearly was up to serving the need that your other half required!

Beautiful table setting and home Jared. SWMBO was surly pleased. I find sapele and sipo fun to work with. With careful selection you can get a wide range of looks and colors from this material.

It wasn't that bad moving it with the top separate from the base. The dining room is large enough to just walk in with it and set it down.

Wow, there's a table and a half. Love the finish.
    How is the top attached?

No, just dominos and glue from the aprons to the legs. I don't see a need for corner blocks on a table base that can't be disassembled.

The center is attached with screws, the outside traditional wooden buttons.
