I have a number of Shaker chair kits that need to be assembled. The process is pretty straight forward as it only requires glueing spindle tenon's into drilled mortises.
But here is my question. Is there a "better way" to do this assembly other that just relying on glue alone? I have seen where a kerh is sawn inbthe tenon and a slim wedge/shim is insrted and as the joint is assembled it makes a fighter joint. I am a bit concerned about the "regular" joint loosening over time.
Thanks in advance for you help!!
