Treasure chest for new nephew

I made this for my new great nephew. All hand tool project apart from resawing. All cherry, finish is dewaxed shellac and Polycrilic.

Very nice work. My experience with the Polycrilic is that the UV stabilizers in it limit the darkening of the wood due to light exposure.

Im thinking about that now. One thing for sure is a cap from the carrier George H W Bush. His Dad was a part of the commissioning crew. I was able to take part in the family day cruise on the ship. I bought two caps, one to save for a special reason. That was about six years ago. I believe the reason has arrived.

Thank you Yonak. Hand tool guys have a belief that they can somehow refine any machine made joint. It ain't really so but its nice to think that way.
