Since it's his birthday an he's moving into a new place I thought it fitting he had a family coat of arms. We can date it ( the shield itself) to 1410. I just added the Acanthus and the swag just for a bit of decoration and a way to have the name on it in an interesting way. 3 yrs ago I did one very similar for my son when he got married .
I used 1" basswood . It's approx.9" H X 10"W and finished in acrylics. It can sit on this stand or be hung on the wall if he chooses.
