The bottom of that platter was actually made by friendly alien termites visiting from area 50 (in the classified hills behind Oak Ridge) assisted by a secret group of fairy woodturners lured above ground by a trail of rosewoods bits.

Follow up question??? If I were to get a larger chuck to turn 14" bowls, what size would you guys recommend?

The Oneway Talon chuck would do just fine, good and made to hold for up to 16” and I have used it for larger than that, of course you could get the Oneway Stronghold if you like, it is build for larger than that again, I’ve turned 32” bowls, and my Stronghold is the one for the very large turnings.
    Have fun and take care

The Teknatool Supernova 2 will easily handle a 14" bowl.
