    August in Galveston County

It a cloudless morning in Dickinson, Galveston County, Texas. The morning temperature
is in the mid 80's. It will be a hot one.

    I walked 2,800 steps, 1.14 miles, 30.14 minutes, 2.3 mph . . . .

My cellular phone has a pedometer.

Yesterday, there were two Louisiana Herons feeding on craw dad's (cray fish to you out of towners) in a ditch.
Oak Hollow Drive is paved with ditches. On this street, all of the ditches have lawn in them and is kept mowed.

Our house sits on 1/2 acre and we have tall shade tress in our yards.

I remember living in Oklahoma City and Kansas City as a kid. The environment here is better.

    Sounds like a good morning.

The humidity here has me swimming to my shop. The inordinate amount of rain for August has made for a stifling summer. I'm ready for February.

This morning in Galveston County we are seeing occasional showers. The storm is supposed to come ashore somewhere down the coast near Corpus Christi, Texas.
It is not a pleasant day. I am glad I cut the deadwood out of the trees.
