Cbn wheels on rikon grinder

I got a 80 grit radius edge wheel and a 220 grit 4 in 1 wheel from woodturners wonders. A club group buy... To my amazement the 4 in 1 works with the rikon 1/2 hp wheel guard in place! Only one minor mod was required... A couple of washers on the eye guard arm bolt to keep it from rubbing the wheel. Plus one for the 4 in 1, it's a little narrower than the radius edge wheel. I can use the stock lousy tool rest on that wheel. The radius edge wheel is too wide for the guard and tool rest to work.

What at an improvement to my sharpening!

i haven't been able to try the 80 grit wheel yet.

I have the same 80/220 setup, it's great. Never considered keeping the stock guards though.

I use the guard to hold a bunch of magnets to catch steel dust. It seems to be catching a bunch of steel particles. I used ten rare earth magnets and a larger ceramic magnet fro HF. I just stick them onto the guard.
