"A Shot of Nothing" pierced mini

Here is another piece for the trip to SWAT. This one is my end of the WoW members turning swap on Saturday. I call it "A Shot of Nothing" because it wouldn't hold anything!

Hard maple, about 2" tall, Tung Oil finish.

    Comments and complaints welcome,

I think this equates nicely to wood turning as well . . . . .

What tooling are you using to perform the piercing? BTW beautiful workmanship!

Those cutouts look laser-cut. What's your secret?

Allan, it is just a steady hand with the right tool (NSK PRESTO ) and some good reading glasses now that my eyes are getting blurry up close now.

Amazing. YOU ARE the laser! Nice work. The extra coloring from the tool friction really makes the cutouts stand out.

    Thumbs up

Which ultra high speed bit are you using for the piercing? Great little piece!

I use the NSK Presto tool (spins at 350,000-400,000 rpm) and use bit 169L carbide tapered. Thanks
