I have a bunch of vcarve files to share. there are a lot of ones that are not really named well but the price is right. right now I will use dropbox to share a large zip file. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1939753/vcarve%20files.zip it is 127 megs.

I had that same problem when I opened the original file, but when I selected the "background" as "Back" it opened OK in Aspire. Try it and see if it works for you.
If it does, do we have an Aspire expert who can tell us why selecting background as back works in this case and how we can be sure we select the correct background when opening an STL file so that we "get it all" as designed?
Maybe a question more appropriate for the Aspire forum?

it has to be in the working plane to enter aspire, it will open complete in cut 3d because it is the entire file, in aspire it is simply a component
ok, so spelling is not my strong point! just look at our gantry's CAM Master is spelled CAMaster.

So selecting the background as "Back" puts it in the working plane so that it comes in to Aspire OK? Not sure I asked that correctly.
How's this. When I select the background as "Back" when opening the STL file in Aspire it comes in OK. So does that mean that "Back" in the working plane?
Make any more sense?

Having a hard time loading zip files. Many stl files compressed are still over size, maybe increase the allowed sizes by 3...There are a lot of files out there...I got this one from woodweb, you will need to resize.

Ok there are some file hosting sites out there some charge for there service. I found this one http://www.filefactory.com/
they have a free service that makes you view a page of ads for 20 secs before the download starts. I have used it a few times and works well. After loading up the file just post the link file factory gives you. You do have to sign up but it works and it is free.

+1 to Dropbox. Great tool.

Watch out for the sites that have limited download times... some of them delete any file that isn't downloaded for 30 days (sometimes less).
