    Wood storage

I need to build a good wood storage unit that is on wheels. Below, is what I was thinking about. Does anyone have a unique unit with a picture?

    SC,
(Is that what you go by SC?):

Look though these and maybe an idea or 2 will jump out at you.

Mine is a 4' wide version of the one on the left. I have with bigger casters and mostly full sheet storage. I've never moved it once! When I remodel my shop this winter I'm taking the casters off.

Many of the big things in my shops that I've put on casters never get moved.

My large assembly table/workbench is on lots of nylon glides. Cheap, solid and if want to move it (rarely) I can slide it.

  6. Craig,

I built a version of that cart that's been kicking around on the creek here. I used 3" non-swivel casters (since it pivots the wheels don't need to swivel). I'll can't attach the sketchup file since it's too big, but I'm attaching a couple of jpgs from sketchup. It works great. If you'd like the sketchup file, pm me.

Mine is ugly compared to most, its made out of salvage lumber, which is what I use mostly, its on casters and one side is a shop made panel saw, the other is for sheet goods, plywood etc, I just wish I could have made it wider to hold more. but my space was limited due to the amount of salvaged dimensional lumber.

I got the idea from another SMC's member, who had a really nice one posted.

Hand tools are very modern- they are all cordless
NORMAL is just a setting on the washing machine.

Jim, that is an interesting design, since it is attached to the wall.

Harry, you better stay away from open flames, LOL

uh-oh, what am I gonna do with the arc welder, coal forge and big grinder. LOL

Those pictures were taken during the transition period of rearranging and adding to the wood storage rack because a fella wants to give me at least 2 small pickkup loads of rough sawn air dried native walnut boards he has no use for anymore.
