Dubuque are the best thing going in my opinion. I like the short 12" and 24" Kbody style... but longer than that give me aluminum every time.
1500 saw - 1000 planer.
2300 if someone buys both.
And be done. Could possibly squeeze more, but harder to find that guy.
This is my vote.
The forum found you a perfect saw. You asked for 40" rip, this one is only "32, yet you said it's too big.
Doesn't make sense.
Wow, that is very impressive. Good job Craig.
I realize this post is 6 years old... but it has good info in it. Recently picked up a set of pfeil chisels. This was the first link I found of a tutorial. So I carved this flower, using these...
If it's good enough for Andrei at MTMwood, then it is dang sure good enough for me...
FYI, I have a DJ20 from the early 90's. It runs on a 1.5hp motor, wired for 110v and works fine. Knives are dull, haven't been changed in years dull... and it still has plenty of power.
So I couldn't run it then. OK thanks, that's what I needed.
An electrician has come out. It isn't an option for my setup, it's complicated, and would cost nearly more than all of the machines in...
If the 1.5HP Cflux 1 requires 30amp, that is a deal breaker for me... as it will constantly blow my breakers.
But I don't see that listed under the details. I see 18amps. Am I wrong?
Derek, any update to this post? I am strongly considering this as my option to replace the HF with upgraded canister.
Can't get 220v in my shop, so looking at the best option for 1.5hp, cyclone. ...
I feel like the 5 1/2 and 6 are the same plane. I have had several 5 1/2's and 6's come through the shop, and I used them interchangeably. I recently got my mitts on a LN #6, so I feel it'll serve...
I have a DJ-20. I run it with the original strait knives on 110v power. Works great. However, I got it for an almost free price. 800 is close to what it would sell for around here though. Not...
I reckon that'll do it.
Your gonna need a bigger broom.
Can't recommend Sellers stuff enough. After you master the basics, you might find you disagree with some of the things Paul promotes, but that's his goal. To get you to that point so you can start...
1.75 is enough for me. I have the sawstop pcs. With the stock blade, after it got dull, I struggled once when I tried to resaw a 2x4 with a full blade height cut. It bogged down. New sharp blade...
Based on lookin at your work and what you do, I think you might be a perfect candidate for that new nova drill press. Seriously.
I consider myself an expert on spending other people's money. Looking for a jointer, IMO, you have only 2 real choices.
Option 1. - Used 6" jointer. These are almost as common as RAS on CL -...
Where are you located? There are guys scattered all over the country that could help you. And even some beyond.
LN are not at the top of the price range. That much for sure. In my opinion they are they affordable option in bench chisels... and very nice. However I sold my set to trade for pmv11..
Be very cognizant and careful with your chisel placement on the first strike, all the way down. Pay attention to the holding your chisel vertical as well as you make that first strike... if you are...
I have a very similar year DJ-20 I picked up used. I have no idea if my fence is level in the way you describe... never checked for that.
I'll look tonight. But it can't possibly affect use...
Looks awesome.
It's always nice to get the one you wanted in the first place. And not let the forum talk you out of what you wanted, cuz there's always that itch.
