Thanks, Kev.
Hi everybody,
I’m looking for advice and recommendations on a 5x10’ fiber laser to cut 0.25” steel. Open to importing a machine and don’t have a particular budget in mind yet.
Thank you!

It would be nice if there were enough American manufacturers to offer options for industrial, pro, and hobby customers. If there aren’t, it will likely throttle growth and raise the price of entry....
Jeff has the answer — autofocus plunger is stuck.
No, there is no way around it. You will have to pay the tax.
I would use HDMI for all connections and a receiver with standby pass-through, which will allow TV watching without your receiver/speakers.
What part of Dallas, Pamela?
What I mean is that these pieces are produced only for the company to engrave and sell retail. I don’t know if any patents are involved, but can be sussed out pretty quickly.
Outside of...
Since you state that you haven’t really built the business, it is likely that it only has potential value and is probably worth the sum of it’s parts to most prospective buyers. While standing...
You might consider a roll system to apply facing to the tape/carrier backing and then cut to size.
Look like a good shop and machine. Enjoy.
The carrier will require a declared value for the waybill, which you claimed $2K. The importer (i.e., manufacturer) typically pays the duty imposed by Customs, however it sounds like they expected...
Duty is calculated on the declared value + shipping, I believe. The importer pays the tariff, not the exporter. With the tariffs increased to 25% in addition to retaliatory Chinese tariffs, it's...
It's easy and inexpensive to lay-up your own cardstock.
Not a solution, but somewhere in the ballpark:

Bamboo is not right for every project or client, but engraves well.
What you're looking for is called color core mat board.
You might consider looking upstream from the fans for any issues that might have caused both to fail, before installing the new pair.
Great post!
These are proprietary products fabricated by a few companies, which offer laser engraving. They are actual bats that are coated with an epoxy ($$$) that takes around 30 days to fully cure for food...
You may have already seen this, but Universal has a resource article for Kapton:

Naugahyde really classes up the front door. Bonus: Smells like tires, when you walk in the house.
Here's a primer on steppers. You might troubleshoot the wiring, to make sure it's correct. If all checks out, it's possible you'll need to reverse the polarity in the firmware or simply swap wiring...
One issue might be the polarity of the stepper is reversed.
